About You

You are creative, collaborative, and an exceptional writer with an eye for digital marketing and storytelling. You’re driven, strategic and solution-oriented.  You remain on top of trends in our ever changing industry.  You bring proven experience developing and implementing successful campaigns and media placements for hospitality brands.  You know the importance of building a network and are willing to become the go-to contact for brands.

This role will be 60% Media & Influencer Relations, 40% Social Media Marketing

General Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Be a visionary for the direction of content creation and PR efforts
  • Stay up to date on and share news on trends in social media as well as those impacting clients by following relevant blogs, websites, influencers, newsletters, etc.  
  • Participate in client strategy sessions, providing big-picture, creative and strategic thinking
  • Manage the day-to-day for all account administrative tasks 
  • Participate actively in internal and select client meetings
  • Draft and manage an editorial calendar
  • Monthly reporting
  • Guide student interns     
  • Research models/influencers for content and collaborations

Social Media Marketing

  • Schedule content for platforms once content is approved
  • Draft and post daily Instagram Stories for clients 
  • Assist with the digital filing within content archives for each client
  • Own community management, replying and engaging within messages, reviews, comments, and check-ins across social media channels

Media and Influencer Relations

  • Establish and grow relationships with media and influencers by taking more 1:1 meetings
  • Organize, invite and host press visits and events
  • Concept creative and targeted pitch projects for the team that are aligned with account goals
  • Monitor and manage editorial calendars and collaborate with social teams
  • Build relationships with destinations, CVBs and offices of tourism in the markets that serve your clients
  • Have a wide range of go-to media contacts making you (and your clients) look like a star as you secure top tier national press and features 
  • Proactive media relations (pitching, organizing media/influencer visits, reviewing & approving media lists) is very much the focus of your day to day
  • Regularly dig into newspapers, magazines, broadcast, blogs, digital pieces to find new angles, new editors and new contributors to create new relationships
  • Regularly coordinate in-person media meetings with journalists on location
  • Secure and host media and influencers on press visits, media appointments and events
  • Keep media/influencer contacts up to date

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or public relations or comparable experience required 
  • 2+ years of agency or in-house PR preferred
  • Hospitality experience preferred

Requirements

  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Google Drive, Canva
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, experience in a hospitality environment is a plus
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Strong knowledge of media and news cycles
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Fluent understanding of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Foundational understanding of Influencer marketing
  • Polished and professional demeanor 
  • Punctuality
